WASTE NOT, WANT NOT
San Diego-based Stone Brewers made a batch of beer using treated wastewater. You read that right. The stuff that went down the drain from taps and toilets was treated and used to brew their Full Circle Pale Ale. According to Steve Gonzales, brewer of this unusual beer, it “some caramel notes, some tropical fruit notes. It’s a very clean-tasting beer.”
Note: This beer is no longer available. It was used as a demonstration of responsible water usage in drought-stricken Southern California.
