Once more, the global poutine celebration will take over Cornwall from May 23rd to May 27th 2017
Cornwall, ON, April 2017: The Seaway Food Festival is excited to announce that the world famous poutine celebration is returning to Cornwall. “La Poutine Week” ‘s concept is pretty simple: local selected restaurants develop special poutine dishes and customers vote for their favourite one. Seaway Food Festival judges will also hand out awards for ”Poutine Of The Year” and the “Jury Award”. “La Poutine Week” will take place over five days from May 23rd to May 27th 2017 in Cornwall (and Area) at each individual participating restaurant.
In five short years, “La Poutine Week” has become the most prominent and successful poutine celebration in the world. This year major cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Brooklyn (New York), Sydney (Australia), and London (England) have participated: “Last year’s experience was phenomenal! We had so many amazing poutines that were created by our local restaurants. And giving consumers the opportunity to vote and engage in such a fun platform really brought the week to a whole new level! I mean in five days we received over 1,000 votes and sold over 1,500 poutines. This is great for the customers and the restaurants, but even better for the city,” added Seaway Food Festival Director Sebastien Manigat. (View the 13 reasons why we loved La Poutine Week here.)
Last year’s winners included Chef In A Bun (People’s Choice Award), Eight Zero Zero (The Jury Award) and the former Bar Q (Poutine Of The Year).
More details will be released in the weeks to come, including the list of participating restaurants, poutine details, and the Jury Award.
