As July 9th nears, Cornwall’s Summer Beer Fest takes shape with new features.
Cornwall, ONT., May 9, 2016: The Seaway Food Festival is excited to announce that tickets for the second annual Summer Beer Fest will go on sale starting May 18th, 2016. Cornwall’s Summer Beer Fest will be held on July 9th, 2016 at the Jet Set Pub (NAV Centre). The Summer Beer Fest celebrates our amazing local food scene and our region’s craft breweries. Our goal is to attract all members of the community to a unique gathering that will promote our local restaurants and various regional breweries via tastings, samples, promotional materials, and one-on-one information sessions.
The Summer Beer Fest will be held on July 9th from 11am to 7pm with pre-sale tickets starting at $15 (regular admission $20). Tickets will go on sale online starting May 18th. Physical tickets will be available starting in June and will be sold at the NAV Centre. During the event, guests will be able to purchase $1 tokens, which can be exchanged for samples of alcoholic beverages and/or food items, subject to pricing. We are also very pleased to announce that we are releasing a limited amount of Deluxe Tickets ($65), which will give you priority parking and access to the Seaway Food Festival Hospitality Suite. Some features included in the hospitality suite are private restrooms, exclusive private beer tasting, hors d’oeuvres, snack, shaded lounge area, and amenities such as coffee, tea, and water.
This year, festivalgoers can expect an even larger and broader list of vendors, which will also include a cidery and a vineyard. Festival organizer Ian Bentley, Food & Beverage Director of the NAV Centre, has worked closely with brewers to ensure the second edition is even more successful: “The response from the community has been overwhelming since the beginning and breweries have noticed. Cornwall and its neighbouring markets have been identified as an attractive destination for their product. So far, we have 18 breweries confirmed with over 50 beers present. That list may grow in the weeks to come as everyday we are fielding calls from brewers who are looking to participate! ”
So far, confirmed participants include:
Seaway Food Festival Director, Sebastien Manigat, concluded: “We are really looking forward to this year’s Summer Beer Fest and we are genuinely happy to see everything taking shape. From the outset, our focus for this edition has been education. In a couple of weeks, we will be announcing a new feature: Beer Fest Summer School. In essence, guests will be able to sign up for private tastings and educational sessions. We’ve enlisted the help of local beer experts to help us curate this new initiative. We are still working out a few details and will announce the full slate of courses in the upcoming weeks.”
