A year ago, I came up with a simple idea: introduce an event to our community that would pull together businesses and celebrate our culinary scene. After months of planning and hard work as well as amazing support from locally-owned restaurants, the Seaway Summer Food Festival came to life.

It was a major success and the response we received from you was phenomenal. Hundreds of people discovered new restaurants, returned to old favorites and enjoyed exceptional meals. As I started to prepare for the winter edition, I kept asking myself, “How do we build on this momentum? How do we continue to engage our community?”

Today I am proud and excited to share with you the first edition of “The Magazine” where we will feature interesting stories about food, people and culture in our region. These stories will be told through interviews, essays, videos, documentaries, and spectacular photography.  “The Magazine” is all about giving you a closer look at what’s happening in our community.

We are not sure how many editions will be produced or how often, but if you like what you see or we missed something, please let us know. You have an opinion?. You want to contribute? You can email us at [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.

My sincere hope is that you enjoy “The Magazine” as much as we have enjoyed creating it. I love food, but more importantly I love people. And if you can’t share the things you love with the people you love, then the truth is you don’t really have anything.
