Musical acts add new dynamic to craft beer and local food festival.
Cornwall, ONT., June 2nd, 2015: The Summer Beer Fest organizers and Limelight Entertainment are proud to announce the musical line-up for the festivities. Headlined by SWITCHGEAR UNPLUGGED, other local performers include Wilderness Co., Jesse Ferguson, and Bruce Wil-LIAM Ciccarelli. Set to be held on July 11th, 2015 from 11am to 7pm at the Jet Set Pub (NAV Centre), the Summer Beer Fest has attracted fifteen (15) breweries to Cornwall for a summer beer-experience unlike any other in this region. In addition to the 35+ beers festivalgoers can enjoy, for the casual beer enthusiast, the Summer Beer Fest will also include a cidery and a winery. The variety and depth of local producers we have attracted is sure to satisfy a wide swath of the community.
Wilderness Co. is collective style group based out of Cornwall & Ottawa Ontario. Originally comprised of Stephane McAlear Nicholas Seguin & Dylan Groulx, Wilderness Co. play your favourite, folk, rock, indie stylings.
Jesse Ferguson was born in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, and grew up in a musical family. He showed an early interest in music, even singing in his grade-school choir. Every member of his family has played an instrument at some point, but the biggest influence on Jesse’s musical development was his father, who taught Jesse the basics on guitar. Through playing music with his father and the rest of the family, Jesse learned that music can be a vital part of everyday life—not something reserved for special occasions or for highly trained elites. In his late teens, Jesse played music with greater dedication, and began experimenting with songwriting. As with most songwriters, his early attempts bore a strong similarity to works by his influences: The Beatles, James Taylor, Neil Young, Tom Petty and Blue Rodeo, to name a few.

Bruce Wil- LIAM Ciccarelli’s music has drawn comparisons to the sounds of Neil Young and Cat Stevens. After spending over 10 years on the indy rock circuit , he has returned to his acoustic ballad roots and put his efforts towards his own solo career dealing with the purity of the sound that comes from the acoustic guitarist and his voice where a song must be able to stand on it’s own. Bruce’s debut CD – Finding id, is a collection of songs that reflects our common journey; a journey to find ourselves. Born in St.Catharines , Ont, and now living in Cornwall , Ont. he is a seasoned veteran with over 2 decades of music experiences, fine tuned in churches, choirs, rock bands, studios and as a producer to several local artist who record in his home studio.
Hailing from Ontario, Canada, SWITCHGEAR UNPLUGGED broke into the modern country rock scene in 2010. As recepients of the 2013 Seeker “Musical Artist of the Year” award and winners of the July 2012 Country 103FM “Emerging Artist Showdown”, SWITCHGEAR has had the pleasure of supporting acts such as the legendary Burton Cummings and CCMA superstars Emerson Drive, Doc Walker, Small Town Pistols, Dean Brody, Good Brothers and Greg Hanna.

Like all of our events, the Seaway Food Festival’s main mission is to celebrate the best our community has to offer, and we believe we have done so by bringing these talented musicians together,” adds Sebastien Manigat, Director of the Seaway Food Festival.
The festivities will continue well into the night when the official after-party starts at the Jet Set Pub with the Jamie Heath Blues Review. Jamie has been a professional working musician for over 20 years. Although he plays many styles of music, including rock and roll, folk, jazz, reggae and country, Jamie is, without a doubt, a bluesman. While living in Toronto Jamie recorded two CD’s, one with “The MAMMOTH Blues Band” and the other with “Black Egg Blues”. Since moving back to Cornwall Jamie has played regularly at local clubs and other venues, collaborating on many special occasions with some of the top talent in the area – truly creating a phenomenal Blues Experience.
Tickets for the Summer Beer Fest are on sale now for $10. You can purchase them online or at the NAV Centre. Your ticket will provide you access to the Summer Beer Fest only. During the event, guests will be able to purchase $2 coupons, which can be exchanged for samples of alcoholic beverages and/or food items from Cornwall’s top restaurants, subject to pricing.
